DESCRIPTION:We have been enjoying some entertaining and interesting events lately as part of our Year of Invitation.\nWe would like all our congregations to get on board with promoting and supporting a special event to bring our Year of Invitation to a stunning and united climax. \nWe have taken up an offer from a professional drama company to present The Journey of the Magi – a dramatic and musical presentation of the well-known Christmas story. \nThis will take place at Dore and Totley URC on Sunday\, December 10th at 4pm. Many thanks to them for hosting this. \nJourney of the Magi is a sparkling production of dance\, theatre\, song and poetry. Entertaining\, powerful and compelling\, Journey of the Magi is back – and it’s as festive\, witty and poignant as ever. \nT S Eliot’s poem\, Journey of the Magi is the inspiration for the show. We are reminded not only of the famous journey the wise men made following the star to Jesus\, but also of the ‘journey’ each of us makes every year in preparing for Christmas day. Images from the poetry and familiar Christmas scenes explode in a mix of laugh-out-loud funny\, moving and entertaining theatre and dance. The result? We hope not only to entertain\, but to offer a chance to reflect and refocus.

We are offering Forest Church\, Godly Play\, Bible Study\, Prayer Walks\, Family Crafts\, Outdoor Games & more…. \n4Front Theatre will be with us too\, performing their family show ‘The Parable Keeper’. \nAs usual\, tickets are subsidized by the synod and we are pleased to be able to offer tickets at £5.50 for those aged 26+ and £3.50 for all aged 18-25 years. Under 18’s are FREE.
